Hi there, I’m Laura! I am both a Licensed Mental Health Counselor (LMHC) in Washington State and a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC) in the state of South Carolina, bringing with me 15 years of diverse clinical experience that ranges from residential treatment facilities to outpatient practice settings. I happily grew up in the picturesque upstate region of Greenville, South Carolina, and have chosen to reside in the vibrant Seattle area for the past decade, where I thoroughly enjoy all of the natural beauty and various activities that the Pacific Northwest has to offer.

Clinical Interests and Training

I specialize in the treatment of OCD, anxiety, various phobias, PTSD, and related mental health issues, with a particular interest in understanding how autoimmune disorders and hormonal changes can affect women who struggle with OCD and anxiety. I am trained in Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP) specifically for OCD through the International OCD Foundation (IOCDF), and I actively engage in ongoing training, professional consultations, and advanced conferences to enhance my skills and knowledge. For a more comprehensive list of my experience, qualifications, and clinical specialties, please refer to the following section: “Clinical Specialties.”

In addition to using Exposure and Response Prevention (ERP), I also incorporate Cognitive Behavior Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and various mindfulness techniques into my practice. When it comes to treating PTSD, I employ a variety of evidence-based treatments, including Prolonged Exposure (PE), Written Exposure Therapy (WET), and Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT), all of which have been proven effective in helping individuals process and heal from traumatic experiences. Furthermore, with a solid background in delivering comprehensive Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT) and specialized training from the Behavioral Tech Institute, I am able to provide DBT-informed care that addresses the unique needs of my clients.

Past mindfulness retreats with Dr. Marsha Linehan’s Zen students have significantly influenced both my professional and personal growth in numerous ways. Through these transformative experiences, I have cultivated a personal practice centered on self-compassion, mindfulness, and a continuous commitment to living life intentionally according to my core values. I genuinely feel honored to serve as a provider and strive to create a safe and supportive space for vulnerability and development alongside my patients.
